Pretty inspiring words, doncha think, fellow Big Dogs?

Now, as I said at the beginning of this article, I am inclined to disagree slightly with the gurus;  the quality of "persistence" IS undoubtedly the most important of success-virtues.

HOWEVER, it must be combined with another quality to be completely effective.

Read the following two quotes:

"People often say that motivation doesn't last.  Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily."

-Zig Ziglar

“In essence, if we want to direct our lives, we must take control of our consistent actions. It's not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently.”

-Anthony Robbins

Get the point?  It's not enough just to be persistent;  one must practice being persistent on a daily basis!

OK, OK, OK, I've preached enough for one day!  (Did I just hear some wise Aleck say, "Amen!?")  I'd just like to leave you with a final thought - a poem by Rudyard Kipling.....

"IF"

If you can preserve your head when all about you
Are dropping theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can have faith yourself when all guys doubt you,
But make allowance for his or her doubting too;
If you could wait and never be tired through ready,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't crumple to hating,
And yet do not appear too decent, nor speak too intelligent;

If you could dream - and no longer make goals your grasp;
If you can suppose - and no longer make recommendations your goal;
If you could meet with triumph and catastrophe treat these two imposters simply the identical;
If you could bear to listen to the reality you've got spoken
Twisted through knaves to make a lure for fools,
Or watch the stuff you gave your lifestyles to damaged,
And hunch and construct 'em up with worn-out equipment;

If you could make one heap of your whole winnings
And possibility it on one flip of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start once again at your beginnings
And by no means breath a observe about your loss;
If you can drive your coronary heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are long gone,
And so dangle on when there's nothing in you Aside from The desire which says to them: "Hold on";

If you can speak with crowds and preserve your advantage,
Or stroll with kings - nor lose the standard contact;
If neither foes nor loving chums can damage you;
If all men count number with you, but none too plenty;
If you could fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything it's in it,
And - which is extra - you'll be A person my son!

Thanks for listening, fellow Big Dogs!  I trust you got some valuable pointers.  And now I'd like to leave you with some words from the Big Dog himself:

No matter how you feel.....
GET up!
DRESS up!
SHOW up!
But never, never GIVE up!
